How does it work?
The software that Microsoft is developing for years uses voice recognition to translate spoken audio so that both voice callers hear translations of robots in their own language. A bilingual text recording of the conversation will also be presented during the call, giving both callers the option to disable the audio translation if they wish. Since Skype is a Microsoft service, Skype Translator preview only works on Windows 8.1, Windows 10 or earlier versions of Windows in its early stages. Skype is also reflected an instant message conversations on its platform in more than 40 other languages, although the audio translation is available only for Spanish and English in the first phase of the preview.
How can I try Skype Translator?
Skype is currently testing the technology with students in the United States and Mexico, as a tool for teaching. However, it has a public registration page for those who want to receive an invitation to the preview of the translator. After requesting an invitation, participation is confirmed based on various factors, such as the registration date, the selected devices, the availability of the selected language and the number of places available.
