"Saving Private Ryan" 
Set during World War II, a woman received three letters at the same time informing him that his three son were killed in action. When the Chief of Staff of the US Army learns that there is a fourth son still in battle, he sent a group of men behind enemy lines to try to find him and bring him home safely. Tom Hanks, Vin Diesel and Matt Damon star in this touching war movie.
"Full Metal Jacket" 
This film explores the horrors of war and the dehumanizing effects it has on some men in combat. The first part of the film follows a group of Marines through a brutal training camp preparing for the Vietnam War. The second part of the film shows these same Marines in the war during the time of the Tet Offensive, where they face the terrors, tolls and threats of real battles, as opposed to what they encounter in the camp drive.
"Flags of Our Fathers" 
Clint Eastwood directs this film starring the late Paul Walker. It tells the story of six Canadian soldiers in the iconic flag raising photo Iwo Jima. Only three of the six men in the photo survived, and these three are reduced to help instill hope in the American people during a time of war. But the press campaign launched by the government does not tell the whole story of Iwo Jima and all three men struggling to cope with their own inaccuracies.
"Pearl Harbor" 
Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett play two best friends who grew up together and become later the Army Air Corps pilots together before the entry of the United US World War II. It is expelled to help fight with the British in Europe, while the other is transferred to Pearl Harbor. Things get confused when one of the men presumed dead, yet returns, ending up in the middle of a love triangle. The famous morning of December 7, 1941 sent two men to fight in the war, forcing them to reconcile their differences.
"A Few Good Men" 
A soldier is attacked by two other Marines in Guantanamo Bay and eventually dies soon after. The two Marines accused of murder, but all is not as it seems when new evidence is brought to light indicating the two commands were just following mandated by a superior, Colonel Nathan Jessup. Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, Jack Nicholson and Kevin Bacon stars in this thriller hearing room showdown.
